What is a Certified Family Law Specialist?:

An attorney licensed in the State of Nevada is prohibited by the Rules of Professional Conduct from claiming to be a Specialist or an Expert in a particular field of practice unless they have been certified as such by the State Bar of Nevada or an organization recognized by the State Bar of Nevada.

To become Certified as a Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of Nevada, an applicant must meet minimum practice requirements in both years in practice as well as diversity of cases handled. The applicant must also obtain referrals from Judges and Attorneys. Once the State Bar of Nevada has verified that the applicant meets the minimum qualifications, the applicant must pass a very difficult exam that has less than a 50% pass rate.
